Loudness meter with flexible frequency analysis
A metering plug-in that shows loudness, level, dynamics, spectrum, stereo correlation and waveform side by side. BS.1770-4 loudness with true peak, a fractional-octave analyzer, and a loudness history with a draggable target line.

Shows loudness, level, dynamics, spectrum and waveform side by side, so a mix can be judged without switching tools or losing track of what mattered a moment ago.

Measures loudness the way broadcast and streaming platforms check it: Momentary, Short-Term and gated Integrated to BS.1770-4, loudness range to EBU Tech 3342, and a four-times oversampled true peak.

Shows how much dynamic headroom the material has, as the length of a bar rather than a number to read off and compare in your head: it floats from the short-term RMS up to the held peak, right next to the level columns. The colour follows that length, green for plenty of headroom, red for material squashed close to its peak.

The loudness history shows the recent past, newest on the right, over a selectable span between 15 seconds and 5 minutes. The target is the dashed line in that same area, and it can be dragged up or down. A silent passage leaves a gap in the curve rather than disappearing, so a pause stays on screen as long as it lasted.

Shows where a mix is thin, boxy or harsh, and how close two problem frequencies really sit. A coarse setting is enough for a quick tonal overview; switch to a fine one to tell 200 Hz and 250 Hz apart instead of watching them blur into the same step.

The plug-in has a full set of monitoring features built in, so critical listening and assessing the objective numbers can happen at the same time and in the same window, without the need to change tools or break the flow. A reference track can take the place of the mix, with a level control of its own so the louder track does not win the comparison by default. The low, mid and high ranges can be soloed, and a single band of the analyzer can be heard on its own for as long as the pointer rests on it.
