1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Wormser Str. 80
67071 Ludwigshafen
Germany
Email: info@jeesonic.de
2. General
Protecting your personal data matters to us. We process personal data only within the limits of the applicable law (GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), TDDDG). Below we explain which data is processed when you visit this website and use the plug-in, and for what purpose.
This website uses no cookies, no tracking and embeds no third-party content or services (no external fonts, no analytics tools, no social plug-ins, no content delivery network). No automated decision-making takes place.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is operated by a service provider (host) that provides the website on its servers. The provider is:
When the website is accessed, the server automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser or the plug-in transmits automatically. These are:
- the IP address of the requesting device,
- the date and time of the request,
- the requested file or URL,
- the HTTP status code and the amount of data transferred,
- the requesting browser or client identifier (user agent).
This data is not merged with other data sources. The processing serves the technical provision, secure operation and prevention of misuse of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in stable and secure operation pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are stored for a limited period (60 days) and then deleted.
4. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" in your browser's address bar.
5. Update check in the plug-in
The Jeesonic EQ Pro software can check whether a newer version is available. If this function is
enabled (the default), the plug-in retrieves a small version file from jeesonic.de
at most once per day, when its window is first opened.
- It is an ordinary web request. As with any page request, your IP address is transmitted to the server (see section 3).
- The request additionally transmits the plug-in version, the operating system (mac/win) and the format (VST3/AU). These are details about the software, not about you as a person.
- No identifiers, no licence data and no information about your projects or settings are transmitted. Nothing is downloaded or installed automatically.
- From this we store only anonymous aggregate figures (the number of checks per day and the distribution by version, operating system, format and approximate country). The approximate country is derived from the IP address (at country level only). The IP address is used only transiently (as a hash value to detect duplicate requests and to determine the country) and is not stored.
- You can disable the update check in the plug-in at any time (gear menu, "Check for updates"). When disabled, the plug-in establishes no connection whatsoever.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in informing users about available updates (including security-relevant ones) and in understanding the distribution of the software in anonymous form, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Download and download counting
When you download the installation file, the server log files mentioned in section 3 are processed. To measure reach, we count downloads in anonymous, aggregated form (total, per day, operating system and approximate country). Automated accesses (e.g. search engines, link previews) and immediately repeated accesses are filtered out. The approximate country is derived from the IP address (at country level only, no more precise). Here too the IP address is used only transiently (as a hash value for duplicate detection and to determine the country) and is not stored. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a rough measurement of reach pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
7. Newsletter
On this website you can voluntarily subscribe to a newsletter with which we provide information about new versions and new products.
For sign-up we use the double opt-in procedure: after you enter your email address, we send you a confirmation email. Only when you click the link it contains is your address added to the list. This ensures that no one is added without their consent.
We process your email address as well as technical proof data of the sign-up and confirmation (time and IP address) in order to be able to demonstrate consent. No further details are required.
The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time and withdraw your consent with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link at the end of every newsletter email. The lawfulness of processing carried out up to the withdrawal remains unaffected.
For sending we use the service Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Cologne, Germany) as a processor on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Processing takes place on servers within the EU. Brevo may use sub-processors that transfer data to third countries (e.g. USA, India); this is safeguarded by standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. Further details are set out in Brevo's privacy policy.
8. Recipients and third-country transfer
Your data is passed on to third parties only insofar as this is necessary for the technical provision by the host named in section 3 and for sending the newsletter by the service provider named in section 7; both act as processors on the basis of a data processing agreement. A transfer to countries outside the EU/EEA takes place only in the context of sending the newsletter and is safeguarded by standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR (see section 7).
9. Your rights
Within the limits of the law, you have the right at any time to:
- access to your processed data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, a message to the address given in section 1 is sufficient.
10. Right to object
Insofar as we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
11. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Without prejudice to other remedies, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
12. Currency of this policy
This privacy policy reflects the current status. Further development of the website or the plug-in may make an adjustment necessary.
